The Selling Process

1.     Call us to set up the best time for you to meet with us. When you come in, please bring any and all paper work you may have – receipts, old appraisals etc. Please bring everything you may want to sell even if you think it may have little value. We have several stories of folks believing items were not real when they were quite valuable. Please note: you must legally own the items you may be selling or have legal authorization to do so. 2.     We do a scientific gemological survey on each item using the latest techniques and equipment. This service is free of charge while you watch. It is confidential and without obligation. Gemstones are valued by size, shape, weight, color, clarity, proportions, rarity and country of origin. The evaluation of each piece begins with the: testing of metal, identification of gemstones, quality analysis, possible treatment or enhancement, weight estimations using volumetric formulas. Taking into consideration the design, rarity, vogue in the market place, period of execution, craftsmanship and condition all becomes part of the evaluation. 3.     Your options may vary with each item. Many times we will pay cash for an agreed upon value and you're on your way.   A highly unusual piece may only obtain the highest price by exposing it to a very wide audience. Perhaps in such cases a major auction house (i.e. Sotheby's, Christie's) may be the best platform providing that the potential net profit overcomes the commissions and expenses. We can act as your representative in such cases in order to make it a seamless transition. We have a vast network of dealers and private collectors to draw upon. Our goal is the find the market place where you're item will be most understood and appreciated as that is where the highest will be paid. Many people have jewelry that has been sitting for years – rarely if ever worn in a drawer or safe deposit box. Perhaps you wish to sell after a divorce, something inherited or property settlement. If your not wearing it, sell it! Perhaps the settings are out dated and you would like to remount some of the gemstones into more modern settings. Whatever the situation, your personal service all starts with a phone call. Thank you for visiting! 213-623-3773 Respectfully yours, DAROLD C. ALLEN G.G. DIRECTOR
